baby straight jacket

oh naomi, what a strong and determined little child you are already proving to be.
our sweet girl begins all her naps and nighttime sleep like this. swaddled up like a baby burrito. {recently we have graduated her to leaving one arm out}

but no matter how tightly she is bundled she loves to wriggle herself free.
and shortly thereafter, she wakes herself up. thus nap time usually lasts about 20 minutes. {sigh}

i was reading this post on a blog of a mom who can relate... it made me laugh so hard.

I gave Ali our Woombie to use for Jane. I'm 99% sure it helped Sam start sleeping through the night (at 9 weeks-10 hrs a night) and better naps. Baby can still move and be comfy, but they won't be able to put their arms all over in the air and startle themselves and thus...wake up! I got it off this site
http://www.thewoombie.com/

We got a newborn and next size up. He wore it at night and naps til he started rolling over...around 4.5 months :)
Hope you're loving the life of a momma!

Do it! Even if it doesn't work for her, if you have more kids, you can always try it with them :) The key is to put her in it at the first sign of tiredness before you rock, sing or read books before sleep, whatever you do. Also, in the middle of the night, I'd feed him while still in it, change the diaper real quick and right back in it to keep him as sleepy as possible :)

Ah, tiny Steve Jr - what are we gonna do with you? It's a good thing all that wriggling and grunting and fussing doesn't wake up your dad. He apparently can sleep through anything.

It's really funny to read about, but I feel so bad for you! What a strong-willed little baby, wriggling out like that. Maybe a double swaddle would keep her sleeping longer?
