and another excuse to prop naomi up like a doll and take more pictures.
there's the smile!
her official 4-month appointment is on tuesday but she's weighing in now at about 12 and a half pounds. almost doubled her birth weight although she continues to be quite the little munchkin compared to other babes her age.
her new favorite thing is to randomly burst out with an angry yell if you are trying to do something she doesn't like..for example now when i try to swaddle her, rock her or give her the binki she realizes i am going to put her down to sleep and she ain't gonna have that happen! so she refuses the binki, arches her back and lets out several scream/yells in short spurts but repeatedly. one right after the other. oi. which makes me eventually give up. i stop rocking her and while holding her upright i look her in the eyes and say "naomi, its time for sleep okay baby?" she smiles at me and then i put her down in her crib and her smile quickly fades.
all i can do is leave the room and listen to her outbursts on the monitor. WAH. pause. WAH. pause. WAHHHH. pause. WAH. pause. we do this for a bit until she finally gives up and i hear the sucking on the hands begin. eventually that fades, sometimes interrupted by a few more yells and then silence... man, who knew fighting sleep could be such an art.
i keep telling her to enjoy all this sleep while she can but she doesn't think i know what i'm talking about.

pretty soon you won't need to prop her up any more! she's growing way too fast if you ask me! and soon you'll have to bribe her to take her picture! cute lil' thing!
